Terms of use

These terms apply to pennysaverusa.com and everything on it (the “site”): the town pages, local deals, neighbor listings, money tools and the blog. The site is run by Publishing Properties Ltd (“we”, “us”), and these terms are a legal agreement between you and us. By using the site, posting on it, or creating an account, you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use the site. If you use the site for your employer, you confirm you're allowed to accept these terms for them.

Changes

We may update these terms by posting a new version here, and the date above always shows the current one. Using the site after a change means you accept it. We may also change, limit, suspend or stop any part of the site at any time, and may restrict your access if we believe you've broken these terms or the law.

What PennySaver USA is

PennySaver USA is a local savings site for American households: deals from local businesses, grocery sales, free stuff and events posted by neighbors, money people can claim, and articles about saving money. Our articles are general information written to be useful and readable. They are not professional advice of any kind, and reading them does not create a client or advisory relationship with us or with anyone who writes for us.

Not financial, legal, or tax advice

Articles about money, deals, prices, banking, credit, insurance, taxes, side income, or benefits describe how things generally work and what questions to ask. They are not financial, investment, tax, or legal advice for your situation. Prices, deals, and rules change, vary by state, city, and store, and depend on your own circumstances. Before acting on anything you read here, check the current price or rule with the store, company, or agency involved, and speak to a qualified professional who knows your situation.

Accuracy and sources

We work hard to be accurate and we link to the sources we cite so you can read them yourself. We cannot promise that everything on the site is complete, current, or free of error, and it may be out of date or unavailable at times. If you spot a mistake, our corrections page explains how to tell us and what we do about it.

Your use of the site

You may view the site and print or share links to its pages for your personal, non-commercial use, as long as you keep any copyright and trademark notices in place. You may not copy, republish, scrape, or redistribute our text or pictures without written permission. Automated collection of content for training or resale is not permitted.

You also agree not to:

• damage, overload or interfere with the site, or with anyone else's use of it;
• try to get into accounts, systems or networks connected to the site by hacking, password mining or other unauthorized means;
• use bots, spiders or similar tools to collect information from the site;
• mirror the site, or put your own or anyone else's advertising or branding in a frame around it;
• get around any protection on the site, or reverse engineer it.

Listings and other things you post

Free stuff and events are free to post. When you post one, you confirm it's true, that it's yours to offer, and that it follows our posting rules. You agree not to post anything illegal, misleading, defamatory, obscene, threatening, or that infringes someone else's rights or invades their privacy, and not to include viruses or other harmful code. You won't pretend to be someone else, misstate your connection to anyone, or disguise where a post came from.

You keep ownership of what you post. You give us a royalty-free, worldwide license to use, copy, edit, publish and display it on the site, in our emails and on our social pages, and to let others do so for us. We may check, edit for length or clarity, decline or take down any post at any time, for any reason, for example when it breaks the rules or a reader reports it. We may also disclose information when the law, a legal process or a government request requires it.

Please be careful about personal details you share about yourself or others, and don't send us confidential information. Anything you send us about the site (a correction, a suggestion, a story of your own) isn't treated as confidential, and we may use it without payment or credit unless we agree otherwise in writing.

Dealing with other people

PennySaver USA is not part of any sale, swap or meeting between people who find each other here. We don't own, inspect or guarantee what is listed, and we can't promise that a listing is accurate or that a person is who they say they are. Please read how to avoid scams and our safety tips before you meet anyone.

If you have a dispute with another person, business or organization because of something on the site, you release us and our current and former directors, officers, employees, agents and successors from any claims and damages connected with that dispute, whether known or unknown.

Deals from local businesses

Businesses post their own deals, and we check them before they go up and from time to time after. Each deal shows the last day it was checked. The business that offers a deal is the one responsible for honoring it, and its terms (dates, limits, small print) are the business's, not ours. If a deal didn't work for you, use the Report link on it.

Paid features and advertising

Our billing terms apply to anything you pay us for, including refunds.

Your account

Give accurate information when you register, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. If you had an account on the old PennySaver site, it carries over to this one; you'll set a new password the first time you sign in. You can ask us to close your account at any time through the contact page.

Ownership

The articles, pictures, design, name, and logo on this site belong to Publishing Properties Ltd or are used under license, and are protected by U.S. and international copyright laws. PennySaver is our trademark. Using the site doesn't give you any ownership of it, or any right to use our trademarks without written permission. Listings and deals belong to the people and businesses who post them. Trademarks, product names, and company names mentioned in articles belong to their owners; mentioning them is not an endorsement by them.

We respect other people's intellectual property. If you believe your work has been copied on the site in a way that infringes your copyright, tell us through the contact page.

Your information

When you post a listing, save an article by email, answer a poll, react to an item, or contact us, you give us permission to use that information as described in our privacy policy.

Links to other sites

We link to outside sites, most often official sources. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content, their accuracy, or how they handle your information, and a link doesn't mean we endorse them. Using them is at your own risk. Some links may earn us a commission; our affiliate disclosure explains how, and why it never changes what we recommend.

Advertising on the site

The site is supported by advertising. Advertisements are provided by third parties and are labeled as such. We don't endorse advertised products and aren't party to any purchase you make from an advertiser.

No warranty, limited liability

The site is provided “as is” and without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement. We aren't responsible for damage to your computer or other property, including from viruses, from using the site or downloading anything from it. You rely on the site at your own risk.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we and our current and former directors, officers, employees, agents and content or service providers are not liable for any special, indirect, incidental, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost use, data or profits, arising from your use of the site or your inability to use it. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to one dollar ($1.00). The liability terms for paid services are in our billing terms.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Publishing Properties Ltd and its current and former directors, officers, employees and agents from all claims, liabilities, costs and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your use of the site, anything you post or send through it, or your breach of the law or these terms. We may, at our own expense, take over the defense of any such matter, and you agree to cooperate with us.

Ending your rights

If you don't follow these terms, the rights they give you end automatically.

Disputes and governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes about the site or these terms will be resolved by arbitration under the commercial arbitration rules of the American Arbitration Association, held in San Antonio, Texas. Where there is a risk of imminent harm, either side may ask the federal or Texas state courts in San Antonio for an injunction, and each side accepts the jurisdiction of those courts. To the extent the law allows, you waive any right to start or take part in a class action or class-wide arbitration against us.

We make no promise that the site is appropriate or available outside the United States. If you use it from elsewhere, you are responsible for following local laws.

The rest of this agreement

These terms, with the documents they link to, are the whole agreement between you and us about your use of the site. If a court finds any part of them unenforceable, that part will be enforced as far as the law allows, and the rest stays in effect.
